New Jersey employment lawyers should watch this case closely. An ex-employee with the New Jersey Transit filed a retaliation lawsuit claiming after he was terminated from employment after publicly burning pages from the Quran. The incident took place on the ninth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks. The lawsuit which was filed Friday is seeking reinstatement and monetary damages. The former employee, Derek Fenton, claims that the termination violates his constitutional right to free expression. New Jersey employment lawyers with the American Civil Liberties Union filed the lawsuit.
Employment lawyer blogs will certainly be heating up over this topic.
